My name is Sara Lynae and I am an artist and designer receiving my bachelor’s degree in digital media from Florida State College at Jacksonville. My main focus is digital art and illustration with other interests in graphic design and motion graphics. I am planning to complete an internship that will align with my artistic talents and guide me toward a career as a designer. Upon graduating and completing an internship, I hope to find a job as a book cover designer and in the future, own an art studio.
As an illustrator and designer, my mediums are digital illustration, acrylic painting, and mixed media. My style tends to lean towards realism with heavy attention to detail while also incorporating whimsical ideals and creative leeway. My process always starts with a sketch or outline. Sometimes I make several sketches from ideas before starting a particular project. On a basic level, my mom is one of my inspirations. She is also an artist and has always encouraged my creative thinking. On a more personal level, my inspiration for my art comes from my own identity.  As a woman who identifies as queer, it is important to me that my art reflects positive aspects of femininity and the hardships that come along with being a woman in our society.  While my gender and sexuality do not define my whole identity, they do influence a large portion of my life and art in reflection.  I have always been a quiet person with a lot to say.  My art is a creative outlet for my anxiety and often reflects the thoughts that can get stuck in my head.  My goal is to create art that can be appreciated by everyone while keeping the integrity of my personal experience.
